Resident visas can only be granted by the Honduran Government, in which the state authorizes an foreigner to reside under the conditions and requirements stated by Immigration Laws.

Resident categories are listed below:

1.- Independent
2.- Pensioner
3.- Worker
4.- Family ties, marriage, common spouse.
5.- Investor


1.- Valid passport for one year, at least.
2.- Two passport pictures 2" x 2".
3.- Birth certificate. (If you were born in any country other than Canada, your Birth Certificate
  has to be authenticated in the Honduran Consulate or the Consular Section of Honduran
  Embassy in your country, or by the Embassy or Consulate of your country in Canada.).
4.- Certification of Criminal Record whit fingerprint search, issued by RPMC/GRM the Police
Department of your place of residence. (Canadian Police Certificate for Employment, visa
applicants, Foreign Travel/Work Permits).
5.- Health Certificate issued by an authorized Medical Official or by an authorized private doctor.
  That document has to be authenticated by the Provincial Medical Board of your country of
6.- Marriage Certificate. (If you were married in any country other than Canada, your Marriage
  Certificate has to be authenticated by the Honduran Consulate or the Consular Section of the
  Honduran Embassy in the country where the certificate was issued).
7.- The applicant must complete and sign in the presence of the General Consul of Honduras in
Montreal the residence application form and sign an affidavit.

Independent: Proof of income, authenticated by Notary and by the Board of Notaries of your
province of residence.
a.- Proof of order given to Bank to transfer pension funds to a Bank in Honduras.
b.- Proof of origin of the Pension income, authenticated by Notary.
c.- The documents mentioned above must de authenticated by Notary and by the Board
  of Notaries of your province of residence.

  Marriage, Family ties, Common spouse: Marriage certificate, proof of family/relative ties.
Work: Employment contract letter or appointment letter by the employer. If the employer is
  Canadian this document must be authenticated by Notary and by the Board of Notaries
  of your province of residence.
  Investor: Foreigners will be able to acquire the status of investor resident, by investing their
capital in any branch of the Honduran licit economic activity, by no inferior amount of fifty
thousand American dollars (US$ 50,000.00). Investments made in bonds, or in national
financial institution and Treasury bills, in the form and terms that the law determines.
